We depend on volunteers to provide free services to our community members in need. Take a look at our volunteer opportunities to find out how you can serve your community through St. Vincent de Paul. When you’re ready to serve, fill out our volunteer application.

Serving Line
Feed your community by serving breakfast or lunch in our free dining room! We serve 700 meals every day, and we need volunteers to put the food on the plates. Breakfast servers are needed every morning from 7am-8:30am and lunch servers every day from 10:30am-1:30pm.

Kitchen Prep Help
Feed your community by preparing meals in our kitchen! Our free dining room serves 700 meals every day, none of which would be possible without volunteers to prepare food. Volunteers are needed every morning in 2-4 hour shifts from 6:30am-8:30am and from 8:30am-10:30am.

Pantry Organization
Help us keep the free dining room and kitchen stocked and organized! Most of the food we serve comes in the form of donations by the San Francisco – Marin Food Bank and other local charities and donors. We need volunteers to sort through and organize these donations to keep our pantry shelves stocked. Volunteers are needed Wednesday-Sunday in shifts from 7:00am-8:30am and 8:30am-10:30am.

Bussing Tables
Serve your community in the dining room! Breakfast and lunch are busy times in our dining room. Every day, we need volunteers to bus dishes from the dining room to our kitchen. Volunteers are needed every day in shifts from 7am-11am and from 9am-1:30pm.

Administrative Assistant
Help support our outreach effort to the community! We need volunteers with office experience to enter computer data, organize files, and send informational and thank you letters to the community for supporting our effort. Volunteers are needed in 2-4 hours shifts during our office hours on Monday-Friday from 9am-5pm.

Homeless Prevention Desk Help
Prevent homelessness in Marin by volunteering at our reception desk! We receive calls every day from locals who need help to pay their rent to avoid eviction, who need food vouchers to make it until their next paycheck, and who need assistance to pay their gas and electric bills. Reception desk volunteers answer these calls and relay them to local chapters of St. Vincent de Paul who then visit the clients and provide them with resources. Volunteers are needed in 2-3-hour shifts, Monday-Friday while our office is open from 9am-5pm.
