If you are hungry

If you are hungry, or just in need of some companionship and a hot meal, please visit us at 820 B Street in Downtown San Rafael. We are open from 6:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. every day of the year. You will not be asked for any money, identification, or proof of immigration status.

As you enter, please enter the queue, pick up your utensils and let our friendly volunteers know what you’d like on your tray. You may eat as much food as you’d like, you may go back for "seconds," and you may ask for a "to-go" bag meal to take with you. You are also welcome to take any of our "open pantry" groceries home with you. Please bus your tray when you are finished, and look for any volunteer or staff person with a blue apron if you have any questions or special needs. We hope you enjoy your meal.

If you are currently un-housed

If you are sleeping outside, in a car, or on someone’s couch, we encourage you to visit our Homeless Help Desk which can provide you with some basic items and work with you to improve your housing situation. Our Help Desk is located above the Free Dining Room at 822 B Street in San Rafael. Help Desk hours are Monday through Thursday from 12:00 to 2:00pm and on Fridays from 1:00 to 3:00. Please sign in at the counter when you arrive; assistance is granted on a first-come, first-served basis. Rental deposit requests are taken on Friday only. Spanish-speaking volunteers are available Monday, Thursday and Friday to assist you.

If you are currently housed but need assistance to stay housed

Afraid of eviction? Unable to pay your utility bill? Are your children hungry?

Please call our Help Line at 415-454-3303 ext.10 (ext. 15 in Spanish). Speak to our receptionist or leave a message with your name, phone number and complete address, and we will contact you shortly. Our volunteers will schedule a day and time to meet with you at your house or apartment and will work with you to try to improve your situation.

If you need transportation

If you are interested in purchasing a low cost car, call Bill Eberhart for our Vehicle Program at 415-258-5226. All cars undergo a vehicle safety inspection before they are sold.

If you need to find a job, get a referral to another agency, or make a phone call, come to our Concierge Desk, located in the Free Dining Room at 820 B Street San Rafael. Volunteers at the Concierge Desk provide immediate onsite counseling, advocacy, and assistance seven days a week.

Directions by car

We are located in downtown San Rafael on B Street, between 2nd and 3rd. Take the Central San Rafael exit, turn onto 3rd and then take a left onto B Street.

Directions by bus

Golden Gate transit center in San Rafael is approximately 4 blocks away, also between 2nd and 3rd Street.
